Located in the heart of downtown, the Minneapolis Convention Center features meeting space large enough for 10,000 people within its 475,000 square feet spanning 87 meeting rooms and additional exhibition space.

The center hosts hundreds of exhibitions a year for a wide variety of area organizations and businesses -- including wedding exhibitions, car shows, and other specialty commercial events that are open to the public.

Companies needing conference meeting space for one day -- or several -- can find private meeting rooms and lecture halls at the Minneapolis Convention Center, as well in-house catering for large groups through the Kelber Catering company. The center features a 3,433-fixed-seat auditorium that can be divided into four, separate, soundproof sections within less than 30 minutes for quick conference transitions. In addition, the center's auditorium houses three lecture rooms with 428 seats that rotate 180 degrees on a circular turntable.

The center also is known for hosting high profile, black-tie events and parties in both its 28,000-square-foot ballroom and its 55,000-square-foot ballroom. In addition, the convention center is home to the Minnesota Orchestra, which sets up in the convention center's auditorium. The dynamic architecture, a visually stunning reverse dome ceiling facade, and the fine acoustics of the auditorium make musical performances a not-to-miss event for any new visitor to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

Visitors to Minneapolis should not skip over the city's convention center -- even if they do not have official business inside the building. Not only is it a prime meeting space, but also it is architecturally beautiful. Instead it boasts sweeping ceilings and expansive halls. Outside it sparkles in light during the night. In the heart of downtown, it is easy for visitors to pass by and stop to view the aesthetics of the building on the way to shopping and sightseeing in the city.
